So, how do you know when to splurg? I have been playing around with beauty and makeup supplies for as long as I can remember. Beauty isn't really about how you look as much as it's how you feel. I adore feeling glamourous. Sometimes that means a face full of makeup and curls on my head. Other times It may mean no makeup, pony tail, and a kid on my hip. Beauty is so much more than the products you use. But, if were being real for a minute, I need it. I'm pretty sure no one is still using the term hot-mess, but I'm going to bring it back for a minute. If I don't at the very least do something with my hair, I am the epitome of a hot-mess. My hair is course, thick, and bushy. It must be tamed. A while back I decided to jump on the no-poo band wagon. I wanted to go to the roots with my hair health hoping to combat some of it's problem areas. Little did I know my hair would rebel and it would be the worse thing I could have done. It wasn't until my hair began breaking away in my hands and the oil slick forming atop my noggin', I realized how awful the no-poo was for me. Not really knowing what to do, I resorted to el-cheapo shampoo and conditioner. With little change, I resorted to the daily pony-tails. Little did I know a small chat with my beautician friend would reveal the reason for my frizziness. My hair is begging for moisture! Apparently, my hairs thirst was being met by the moisture in the air causing my major, unmanageable poof. While my original no-poo method failed miserably, I considered going with a sulphate free once again. This time, I was leaving it to the professionals. Time to splurg!
LavishALL IN 1 CLEANSING & CONDITIONING
ENRICHED WITH A-LIST INGREDIENTS –– AMLA, ARGAN & AVOCADO OIL. A non-lathering cleansing conditioner that moisturizes and nourishes for a shiny, manageable mane. Also helps to neutralize chlorine and trace minerals to stop oxidation in its tracks, protecting hair from breakage and color from fading. Free of sulfates, parabens and phthalates.
So, what did I think?
I love it! 4 kisses out of 5.
Smell: mmm.... earthy, fresh, and clean. It's not overly floral like most. There's a touch of masculinity, yet still feminine.
Texture of product: smooth and moisturizing. I was afraid of the non sudsing, but I didn't miss it. My hair felt and smelled clean and full of moisture. Blow dry time: Unfortunately, the combination of these products didn't cut down on blow-dry time. However, they made up for it with less style time! manageability through the day: amazing! Curls held, frizz was at a minimum. I can't say my hair didn't frizz (to be fair, Kentucky is ridiculously humid right now.) However, it didn't get bad enough to pull into a pony tail. Cost effective? Honestly, yes! I did spend much more over what I would normally pay to wash and style my hair. BUT, I didn't have to use nearly as much. A little went a long way. Three little spurts of hairspray held my style all day....that says a lot. Would I recommend to a friend? Absolutely. The best part? I just realized this while writing for this post.
